WNF reasons to be a volunteer!
In the past I was a volunteer for Natuur en Milieu in Haarlem and also for Vluchtelingenwerk in the Haarlemmermeer so I always felt the need to give back something to society. Once I retired it was something I had always planned to do by volunteering for WNF! By being active for WNF I have the opportunity to motivate children especially ,and also my own generation, to take better care of our planet and its wild life in such a positive way.
Since approx 2 years
The professionalism and the dynamic way that WNF operates and the support, training and opportunity given to its volunteers to brainstorm on future projects and planning is inspirational.
I love to be there to help with anything creative and fun where I can pass on my enthusiasm for the work done by WNF to the general public.
The team is an amazing group of people with so many different talents and every event is a success thanks to the hard work and excellent organisational skills of Pia and Roel. Every team member wants to give of their best just as they do. It is always an enjoyable day out wherever we are and whatever the theme is!
There are always possibilities to look for new challenges and places to promote WNF. From the first interview with Pia & Roel there was an instant respect and admiration for their unique talent of making everyone feel useful!
There are periods when I am not able to give so much time to WNF but one is not made to feel under pressure in any way. I also enjoy looking for ways to promote WNF in whatever way possible.
Having been so fortunate through my work to visit many countries, and especially Africa, which is home to the majority of the world’s endangered species , I hope that generations to come can see for themselves the beauty of these animals in the wild. I hope that the current WNF campaign will go a long way to achieving that goal .
